Ultimately, large providers like Cloudflare and Amazon can shoulder the burden of DDoS attacks against their customers, while smaller providers either 1) can't, or 2) can, but only by reselling the larger providers' services. It sucks to be reliant on them, but at least it's only for reverse proxying towards a host of our choice.
