Often, people post links to other pages on raddle, and it sends users using the onion site to the clearnet site.

To avoid this, post your links in this way:

[Link title](/f/memer/100057/anti-tankie-theory)

by leaving out the "https://raddle.me" or the "http://lfbg75wjgi4nzdio.onion/" part in your link, whoever clicks the link will automatically go to the version of raddle that they are already using.

Also! You can cross-post to raddle when creating a post, and split people appropriately to their onion or clearnet version, by posting the onion link version. For some reason, that will take clearnet users to the clearnet version. Hooray!

Please feel free to ask if I was not clear about anything!

it would be cool to make bots.

There are a handful of sites I would love to auto-upload stuff to raddle from.

We've had bots here. Then emma redid some code and it killed them. But emma was going to make something called 'webhooks' that was supposed to make botmaking easier, so far as I understood. Not sure what's come of all that. u/emma?

Webhooks allowed Postmill to notify an external service when an event occurred, so not super-useful for bots.

They were implemented in 2018, went relatively unused, backward compatibility broke, and eventually I decided that + the lack of use wasn't worth the trouble, so I removed them in 2019.

There's a preliminary REST API in Postmill, but it's experimental and lacks a desirable authentication method, and so is disabled on Raddle. I'm not sure I'll ever have the time and energy to complete it, but I hope to at least have authentication in place some time soon so what's already there can be used.

So weird that I thought webhooks were a totally different thing.

I wonder where one might find people who would be able to help with programming. Is there a subreddit for programming in the relevant language?

I didn't know this somehow.

I figured it out by accident like two weeks ago. It might not have been intentional on emma's part.

Thanks or posting this, I searched clearnet as I remembered that word from seeing the title and needed to find this for linking the wiki. It works for that too!

just a little info for the moderators of raddle & those who use raddle on onion , unfortunately there is a problem I cant sign up for raddle on the onion I had to use clear net for some reason raddle must have accidentally blocked tors IP address , I'm assuming someone muse have been a troll & when the moderators went to block that persons IP address they blocked onion , I know because at first I thought I had made some mistake which I hardly ever do , then a week later when I tried to use onion on a friends computer & that message came up , this may get most onion user mad if they try to sign up or post on onion .
