I think that rioting and things like this are quite bad. Direct action is much better.
However, the state is still in the wrong and the "United States law" is illegitimate
Literallyshaking wrote
So it's revolution, then? I'm not quite there. Though I will say the United States government has failed in every job it's been given. Maintain the infrastructure, secure the elections, enforce the rule of law and it's equal application, and protect the borders. All failures.

lmao where are all these bootlickers coming from
Literallyshaking wrote
There must be some law. Anarchy is weakness that will soon end by powerful foreign governments. China would gobble us up just to collect what we owe them if the government fell. We have to use the existing system to oust the oligarchs and corporate cronies that have seized power.
Literallyshaking wrote
I'm no bootlicker. I'm an angry man tired of being shoved around by authoritarians and elitists. But passion shouldn't preclude common sense. You know I'm right.
heckthepolice2 wrote
The government's job is to enforce hierarchy through violence, and it has succeeded resoundingly at that task. Framing the state as "broken" or "failed" completely misses the point of why states exist in the first place and leads to the dangerous idea that we can use the state to fight hierarchy, as if it's some kind of neutral tool
heckthepolice2 wrote
You clearly have no idea what it is anarchists believe and do
heckthepolice2 wrote (edited )
Why is it that "common sense" always seems to mean "whatever's convenient for preserving the status quo"?...

Dude, I lived in Tucson. The border is a lawless mess. And these people just keep coming. The border patrol isn't crossing into Mexico to get these people they just keep assailing the border and there are a lot of very bad dudes mixed in that I guarantee you don't want in your neighborhood.

I'm not talking about preserving the corrupt status quo. I'm talking about preserving what our fathers built

Nice metanarratives nerd

I know that no functional examples of anarchy exist today. There are too many nations bent on conquest for an unprotected nation (especially a resource rich one) to stand alone.

I thought nerds were cool now.

What about hunter-gatherer societies? What about the EZLN? What about Rojava? If we're including historical examples, what about the CNT-FAI in Catalonia? None of these are "pure anarchies", perhaps, but that's because there's no such thing. Anarchy isn't about building some abstract utopia. It's about the real struggle against all forms of hierarchy.

Okay....well. if you are a southwest native then you've got a real case against my people. But in our defense we did bring water to the southwest and did our level best to preserve your culture and do right by you with entitlements, opportunities, etc. But if you want a fight you'll certainly get one. May the better people win.

300 million people in the United states over half the globe. All enjoying liberties and opportunities unheard of elsewhere in the world. Saying "burn it down" just sounds childish. Sure, it's been hijacked and slipping into authoritarianism....but to throw it all out is stupid.
heckthepolice2 wrote
it's been hijacked
Sorry, could you point me to the time in history before it was hijacked? Was it slavery? Jim Crow? When women couldn't vote? When being gay was illegal? Was it the genocide of millions of indigenous people? Japanese Internment?

Haha! Good luck with that chip on your shoulder, buddy. We have consistently kicked your people's asses and we will continue to do so. I didn't understand till now why my people were motivated to do it. You guys are assholes.

The Federal Reserve was established in 1913. Some things that happened before 1913 include but are far from limited to:
-
The enslavement of millions
-
The Trail of Tears
-
The massacre at Wounded Knee
-
The founding of the KKK
-
Literally thousands of lynchings
-
Jim Crow laws
-
Ubiquitous sweatshop labour, including by children
And if the America you're advocating for is the kind that does shit like that, I'd like to ask that you please fuck off and die
Literallyshaking wrote
That's not very nice. Don't you think we might have a problem with that?
Literallyshaking wrote (edited )
Yeah, the Democrats we're pretty nasty all right. hundreds of thousands of my people died bringing them to heel.

The Federal Reserve Act was spearheaded by Nelson Aldrich, a Republican senator.
So it sounds to me like you want to go back to a time controlled by democrats that was ruined by the actions of republicans right?
(also do you think I'm a democrat because if so that's fucking hilarious)

So preserving your privilege that was built on the backs of migrants, the global South and by perpetrating ecocide on the whole planet?
Yeah, fuck that. I hope everything your father built crumbles into dust.

Are they really concentration camps? In world war two the Nazis rounded up people and took away their freedom. The folks being shepherded up by pueblas sin Fronteras are coming of their own accord, and violating United States law. Why would you take your children into such a volatile situation?
