they already try with javascript tricks to make it difficult to download videos, the software just keeps up. there is a pure python implementation here https://github.com/NFicano/pytube . you can see all the decoding with ciphers hidden in javascript.

These "dl" programs (youtube-dl, svtplay-dl, megadl etc) will likely move toward emulating a full browser if the need comes. The unfortunate result of companies fucking over the Web
