The thing about Meme formats is that they're often just the same joke repeated an endless amount of times, until they end up on Pewdiepie. As opposed to detourning formats, we should be more creative with the Memes we make, and play with symbols, rather. Think like steamed Hams, which after two years, is still fresh.

yup, its all over. the moment has passed. we need a new version of the internet and a new version of memes cause this is a broken system. there are better ways.

Meme formats are kind of a “running gag.” Yea, it might seem kind of ridiculous, but they work.
Besides, it's kind of cool how some meme formats can be seen across language barriers. They're an important part of “Internet culture“, whatever the hell that means.
