A large and diverse guard staff is an absolute must, and we will paint their billy clubs with the flag of their favorite social justice causes.

Yes, that goes without saying, the bigger the guard force, the bigger the union.

Flat structure prison definitely. All one floor, all cells the same size, no hierarchy of guards, same pay for guards, the whole shebang.

Prisoners can elect their guards! Once every 10 years!

Tequila_Wolf wrote

This is essential. Prisoners could elect a small council of prisoner representatives who vote for guards.

So progressive!

Tequila_Wolf wrote

And efficient. Of course true democracy would have to be present in any anarcho-prison.

The most important thing is that the inmates learn real skills so they can be productive members of society. I suggest a coal mine. After 10-20 years in the prison mine, they'll be ready to join the workforce and put their past misdeeds behind them.

And a small inflatable pool in the yard, sustainably filled and washed with naturally falling rainwater.

Everybody gets to voluntarily opt-out of imprisonment, if they choose capital punishment instead.

Genius! We'd save millions on the heating bill.

Tequila_Wolf wrote

Absolutely. Millions we could collectively invest in anarcho-stocks.

Or we could fund research on which authority is justified.

Abdullah Öcalan altarpieces in every cell to commemorate our ... eh ...commitment to the cause. We also need a catchy quote of Chomsky or Bookchin in the yard.

quote of Chomsky

How else are we going to make sure they know that the hierarchy under which they'll be living is legitimate?

I was actually thinking of the guards being advised to tell their fellow inmates that it's a voluntary prison and that they are building the new society in the cell of the old one.

The prisoners will be required to carry black flags or get a punishment of their choosing (capital or non-capital discipline).

People would be free to have whatever amenities they bring with them.

If people choose not to bring a toilet when being arrested, we will stand by their decision.

Maybe an anarcho gas chamber so we can have an anarcho death penalty. Also, anarcho solitary confinement so we can anarchically drive you into madness...non-hierarchically, of course.

Solitary confinement will be used only against individualist anarchists!
