Funny, but full of spooks. Sadly, some ancoms will buy into this fullstop.

The shopping cart is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self governing

Anyone who does not do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage

I've interpreted as this saying that not returning a shopping cart means that you're an autonomous being; truly free of any obligation to civilization. If you do return the shopping cart, you're a square, a dirty humanist, and a bootlicker who does things because they're "supposed" to.

Still a ridiculous concept and I'd be surprised if this wasn't a shitpost.

I know someone who insists on not returning the shopping cart because "It's someone's job to go out into the parking lot and collect all the abandoned carts at the end of the day, and that's probably their favourite part of the job because they get to go outside."

Had a friend who had this job and would go into friends’ cars and smoke weed the whole day.

Of course, this is only true in some countries. In most of Europe to get a shopping cart you have to insert a Euro which you get back once you return it and reconnect the chain that is connected to the cart in front of it...

This was my thought too.

With the added bonus, some people carry pieces of metal for retrieving coins from abandoned carts.

So by abandoning a cart you're leaving money for someone in need.
