It's incredibly frustrating that one person and her alts is allowed to monopolize every conversation with her constant berating of anyone that doesn't conform to her demands.

It's incredibly saddening to see a community with so much raw potential spoiled by one incessant troll.

It's incredibly off-putting to see that admins and mods not only tolerate this behavior but encourage it with their snide remarks.

It's incredibly bewildering that an anarchist space could be so polluted by authoritarian witch hunts against literally every new user that attempts to use the site.

The barrier of entry has become so impossibly high that no one can join this community. You have completely shut the doors so that this site can only ever be for a small insular group that has rapidly diminishing returns.

I'm sorry, but raddle only succeeds to demonstrate once again how authoritarian social dynamics plague every anarchist community and render it ineffective, insular, stressful, toxic, exclusionary and viciously unwelcoming to anyone who doesn't speak the lingo and play the game by the rules of the popular children at the top of the hierarchy.

Reactionaries hate being called out. (I think it's the same people every week. How else do they have week old accounts and somehow know how things have always been?)

I actually agree in some ways, and could do better on it myself. A lot of spaces are like that, but there's not much solution beyond personal user autonomy. Such as the block button, which is probably the best you can do in a centralized system. People need to use it more is what I'm saying.

I do note that two of the new users, and probably more than those two, have been very confidently saying ignorant and bigoted things; against such confidence, the only real option left is to dispose of or toy with them, because to teach requires that they're willing to learn rather than debate.

Even if you think someone is ignorant, that's no reason to ruin the space for everyone, which is what happenes when every post is filled up with two word comments (insults) from one very toxic person.

I somewhat agree, but I just block those people so I don't have to see that stuff. I mostly come here for a small handful of people and I'm fine with the insularity.

But I also don't have a problem with people responding in kind to ignorant douchebags.

what a banch of bullshit. raddle is getting spammed by left and right trolls with new accounts every day like yours. don't expect people here to be tolerant of this shit.

I completely agree. I just don't understand why everyone is so hostile and ready to attack at the slightest sign of disagreement.

(Someone's comment on the video: "There's an elitism and lifestylism that goes with radical politics which can be both absurd and counter-productive for a political philosophy intended to be populist and egalitarian. This fine song is 'taking the piss' at this tendency within the radical left. At least that's my take.")

Lifestylism. Bookchinoid confirmed.

Lifestylism is just a nice way of saying queerphobia from this crowd.

Now I'd wish to quote the person who inspired this post:

trolls degrade the quality of discourse in this entire space. Anarchism is not your personal social club for you to be snarky and get pats on the back from your buddies and some regular clique. I've seen it play out time and time again. It's fucking annoying. People like you give me less hope for Anarchism, as a movement.

Thank you comrade, for calling attention to the same type of toxic dynamics I've encountered in radical spaces time and time again. It never goes over well when I bring it up. I would hope that some post-lefties could recognize the detrimental effects of Ideology.

We (well, society) needs to develop a more sincere "metamodern" way of thinking and relating to one another.

Sadanarxhist wrote

It's almost like you know you're a TERF but blame everyone else for it.

Metamodernism. Reactionary confirmed.

I'm thinking you should do a little research about both those terms, "metamodern" and "reactionary." We live in reactionary times. Don't go labeling people reactionaries for no good reason. That's essentially snitchjacketing as the intent is to cause hostility between activists. Bad praxis.

But you're a TERF. The R actually stands for reactionary. I'm pretty sure you'd snitch too.

2

DarkArmillary wrote

Oh I see, you must be confused about a lot of terms. That 'R' stands for 'Radical.' Disagree with it or not, that's what it stands for. I'm sure you could find a wiki article or a list of defined terms to help you. Good luck in your future education endeavors.

So you openly accept the TERF label?

Some genuine criticisms, but it's not going to carry much weight coming from an anon tbh

Aside from this post right here, I don't know who these other people are and I'm not interested in some internal website drama. I don't care for you cliquey bullshit.

Stop being an ideologue; stop looking for excuses to not consider the critical views presented here.

Stop being an authoritarian and a manipulator; stop trying to publicly drag people who don't repeat the party line or agree with your specific views 100%. (Someone speaking or acting contrary to liberatory values is a different situation, but that's not the case in this instance.)

Replace "troll" with "heretic" or "unbeliever" or "dissident" (or a thousand other ideological terms), and the meaning is the same: you're trying to set up an out-group to be lower on a hierarchy than you. If you can succeed there, you don't even have to address the arguments and criticisms raised — because they come from an exile, and we don't listen to them. I see these authoritarian tactics.

I made this second account because I've been silenced and banned for offering critical views. If I wanted troll and create sock accts, would I use the same username?
