Heterosexism and cissexism in movements and places like the USSR, the Spanish Republic, the PRC, & alibi should be brought up and discussed sooner or later, but the way that the brigaders did it was just embarrassing. They don’t want to understand why some communists made those terrible decisions, or how true that the allegations are. Their intent is just to convince us or remind us that state socialism sucks. Imagine how obnoxious it would be if one of you went to a predominately anarchist community and started spamming shit about how Proudhon, Bakunin, and certain Black Army members or allies were antisemitic. What the fuck would even be the point?
Like I said, I don’t think that we should just automatically bury all accusations of Broshevism (or manarchism for that matter) any time that they come up, but we need to handle the topic in a more mature manner. Admittedly I can’t think of a perfect solution at the moment, but if I had to make a choice right now then I’d just redirect the topics and their creators over to c/leftistinfighting.
