It's sad how bad anarchists are at critical thought.

I like the first one because they openly say they're on the same side as fascists.

My grandparents didn't even know what shoes were until the British came and shamed them for not owning shoes.

I walked barefoot an entire day through a big rocky hill without a scratch, it's amazing how resistant your feet become if you train them.

Every week I become more and more certain that I cannot in good conscience continue to participate in my city or community in a way that I don't find completelty full of hypocrisy. Simply existing in larger cities these days is like being a soldier on the front lines of ecocide.

How so? You might be some weird kind of more-ethically-pure in the non-city but you can potentially reach many more people in the city, and work on building alternatives together with rural outposts.

Same goes for sabotage; you'll probably have more to do in a city. I think we can all be where we are, there's more than enough stuff to do anywhere.

I think its more that the city is like...the nexus of capitalism. Yes there are more people there, but simply by being there I feel like my agency is critically compromised. Like...trying to avoid plastic consumption...or water that comes from dams...or any number of man-made things for profit that severely compromise the environment.

Or even the amount of land one can have in the city, which prevents you from being self sufficient. And even vegan diets in the city mean ecocide because most fruits and veggies are grown in a monovulture way that do not respect most creatures that depend on a multitude of plants living their full life cycle.

It's true that cities basically force consumption. There's way less opportunity to choose not to consume capitalism than in rural areas where you can produce what you consume yourself and thus ensure you do it in a sustainable manner.

If you're forced to depend on capitalism to provide all your needs, it's a lot more soul crushing than being able to provide many of your needs yourself.

So I know it's literally sunday and probably nobody will ever read this but I'll just scream into the void

So anyway the reason I haven't posted for a couple days is cause I was camping which is pretty cool. We actually forgot the tent poles and wound up having to just sleep under a tarp (thankfully there was not much rain). I'm getting a bit better at building/lighting fires (still utterly crap, mind you, but better).

We ate so many beans. Like, 4 entire cans of beans in one weekend. I never thought I would get sick of beans but I think It may have happened.

I got a job at a university chemistry lab thanks to some... extreme nepotism. I feel like kind of an asshole for not being happier about that than I am but I just can't really get excited about it. Doesn't help that I'm completely unqalified
