I'd argue that if said "anarchists" are so intent on clinging to such a rigid ideology that they've made that ideology an authority and that calls their "anarchist" label into question. Of course, this piece is made as a response to such groups. Fortunately, not everyone that calls themselves an anarchist is an ideologue so I can still see myself having a discussion with white anarchists without wanting to commit auto-defenestration should the topic of racial relations pop up.

White american leftists are just bad when it comes to non-class issues in general. In the US, whiteness is the default; if you're cis, hetero, white, neurotypical, and/or able-bodied; you're considered "normal" by the cultural standard; if you stray from one or more of these ideas of normalcy, you're different, which translates to "lesser". Naturally, they don't have to deal with overy discrimination on a systemic basis; so when they find out that they're being screwed by capitalism, they do what privileged people do when their privilege is threatened: they freak out and attempt to remove the threat so that they can go back to living their privileged lifestyle. Anything that hinders that goal is seen as a distraction. I can understand why they act the way they do on a logical level, so I can't really blame them; I just know that they're just as useless to me and my desires as a black/latino anarchist as any other liberal, centrist, fascist, etc.
