I know about this :)

It's odd when you've become an admin in the meanwhile.

3 of my coworkers were fired today.

Got told I have to improve customer satisfaction, soon after the news.

We also have to take a course on how to be happy at work.

I'll have to postpone a date I have been planning for a month now, again.

I'll have to postpone a class I wanted to take again.

Sorry for your situation. Colleagues of mine were fired for asking questions to management. Management responded with an department-wide email on having a positive attitude. These employees were let go in a layoff round. Their work metrics were good up to then. The manager was let go later. Corporations want contented employees . But do "surplus labor" tactics instead that discourage this. They want to see your image in videoconferences. They want you happy while dealing with increasingly difficult situations. The level of social control has never been higher.

Well that sounds like some bullshit. Also, though, I'm morbidly curious about how they say to do that. I want to know what the gaslight looks like.

Got back into working, feeling more confident already. Money and attention are powerful forces. Haven't been able to play DnD in a couple weeks unfortunately.

Strange that I finally gotten around to do more, err, 'organizing' despise I hate it with a passion. More antifascist work, less about stealing random shit.

in the United States, national Capture The Flag Day is coming up, so perhaps you can do both at once soon enough?

A reminder to everyone that much (most?) of the best conversations we have are in the chat.
That said, it'd be good if we could have more of them here.

I've been having these ruminating thoughts about the negative consequences of technological progress. Probably because I've been watching some stuff about farming throughout history and just the grain thresher alone....what change it made and yeah, machines suck. My friend said she told her kids not to be rude to the AI just in case it becomes sentient and all I could think about is parents feeding their children to machines. And no, I"m not high. I'm just really sleepy, I think.

My girlfriend's taking her final exams these next two weeks, so we're trying to keep texting at a minimum until her finals are over. It's definitely not easy, but we're sticking to the plan so that she aces those tests.

I stopped posting on anarchistnews.org. Listened to a Jacobin podcast on how automobiles dictate our lives that was interesting. Saw Uber and Lyft tank in the market today. Reading on Fortune's ideas of l so-called leaders. #1 Bill & Melinda Gates. And was at peace during a chaotic week.

Can you post a link to the podcast? It sounds like something I'd be very interested in hearing and I can't tell from their website...

Glad to! -- https://www.blubrry.com/jacobin/43035787/the-dig-against-idiocy-with-kafui-attoh/

Car dominance, public transit austerity, and the neoliberal political-economy within which both are embedded have fomented what Marx called idiocy, in its classical sense of privatized social isolation. Dan talks to geographer Kafui Attoh, the author of Rights in Transit: Public Transportation and the Right to the City in California's East Bay, about the political-economy of public transit and why the fight for transportation justice must be part of a broader struggle for the right to the city.

How bad did Uber & Lyft suffer? Was the damage temporary, or has it persisted?
