That's exciting! What are you doing for that?

We're gonna go see fishies and then maybe go for a hike. I was kind of nervous with her last week, but I think I'm a little more up for things now.

That sounds really lovely, I hope it goes well

I'm inviting some family over and spend the afternoon together. It's not what I originally planned, but it's nice either way.

Unlucky! I had to go to church sunday (family member was murdered, long story) and because it's church and because many in my family are racist sexist homophobic fucks I decided to take some shrooms to make things dangerous. I got more than I bargained for. 10/10 would do again though.

My worst trip ever was on mushrooms with a similar thing happening; I took the usual dose with a bunch of my friends but they had their entire trip and nothing happened to me. So I assumed I'd ate some kind of dud and went home. Driving home the trees started glittering. Home by myself in bed trying to sleep I had a deep existential crisis where I came into contact with my own bare mortality and the only solace I had was in the hope that this would go away when I wasn't so high.
The next day I started reading The Denial Of Death by Ernest Becker and it reframed my whole idea of what living was about.

Have you ever had any plum/prune juices?
ziq wrote
Yes. I loved it at first but got sick of how sweet it was after a while.

Yeah, it's been a rough couple weeks. At this point the initial shock has worn off and we're just trying to do everything we can for him

Thank you. That means a lot.

I really don't know anything about otherkin outside of the "lol otherkin is so dumb" circlejerk on the mainstream web. It'd be cool to see some discussion about that stuff on here

Yeah, they certainly are sweet. I had the chance to try a Chinese smoked plum juice, called suanmeitang. It's bit less sweet and more complex, but still really refreshing. I recommend it.

I definitely agree it would be cool, but I don't really know how to have (or even start, tbh) a discussion. There aren't really a lot of articles or links I can think of to post other than PDFs of academic studies and the like, and those can be long and dry. Even when they are interesting, I don't know how much of a conversation they'd spark

I for one would love to see a representative example, if you had one to share!

I've been reading this over today and yesterday. It is 54 pages (+ appendices, references, etc), so it might be more than you were expecting, but to be honest, since reaching the 'results' section, I've found it very relatable, and even kind of weirdly refreshing/validating to read (which I can't say I was really expecting). I can't say for sure, since I went into it knowing quite a bit about therianthropy, but I do think it conveys fairly well what it's like to be therian, since it's full of firsthand examples.
The results section is the meat of the paper, and it's only ~25 pages, so you can probably get away with skimming through the first sections if you don't really want to read the whole thing.

I live in the city. I heard the other day that the city i live in is one of the most polluted cities in the world. I'm going to the mountains tomorrow for a ten mile hike. It's about an hour away. I can't wait. I'm so excited! :-)
