Hello!

Surviving, it seems. You? Welcome back. We've had a few new people in and a few new people out, but I think it looks like we're on an uptick after the lull a few months back.

It's been a busy few months. Good busy, but I'm ready for things to settle down a bit.

As someone who joined a while ago, I've become more active in the last two weeks also, so maybe some of that. TBH the monotonous nature of reddit brought me back

Doing okay. Had a bit of disappointment this morning when one of my grades came back. I spent about 1 hour being pretty irritated about it. But overall, doing okay when considering the big picture. I have a chance starting on Monday with this new rotation to make up for it by excelling in that one. That's how I'm keeping my head up.

I'm new. Been flooding the boards a bit and stealing an education while I can, but back-to-school corporate capitalism spend money holiday is making me want to run around the internet saying "Have a nice day, Turkey!"

That would not be setting a good example for da childernz.

I'll be back when I'm ready to act like an uncivilized human being. No worries. I'm not angry at anyone here, I'm just angry.

Been helping out my local FNB chapter, and one of the guys I was serving was really cool. He knew a ton about antiquity-era Britain, at least as far as layfolk do, and he taught me some pretty helpful self defense stuff too. Other than that, been playing DnD and having a lot of fun with that. Little shakier is that I found out someone I was crushing on majorly but had a big fight with likes me back, but I've been trying really hard to suppress those feelings so it's kind of awkward.

sounds awkward, but also potentially nice?

I'm still kind of unpacking my feelings about it. We agreed we shouldn't act on this for the sake of our existing relationship, but I'm conflicted I guess. After I killed the crush I started seeing her more like a big sister than anything and I'm caught between being hurt and a little angry that she hid it this whole time and sort of relieved but also distressed about what that means.

the left: it's not my job to educate you, instead read this huge corpus of literature that suspiciously corresponds to what a high-end university education in the humanities and social sciences would give u, or navigate extremely complex social spaces that require highly-tuned social intelligence to survive their byzantine norms and conventions (also everyone hates everyone else and is ready to eat them alive for social capital)

the right: here's my pamphlet on who is and is not a human, take ten and give one to all your friends, if you want to hear more hit me up any time

Thoughts?

I kinda had that discussion with some folk I'm running with. I had to actively self-educate to understand my position in life in relation to the people around me, and it was a slow and painful process I didn't have a lot of help with because most of my old social circles were full of gamer and incel types.

I was only really able to get where I am because I have a lot of free time. Most poor folk don't really have the time or inclination or social push (at least in my case, I hated everyone and wanted to get away from them to be with nicer people) to read Capital or Conquest of Bread or shit like that. They're hungry and they've got bills to pay, they don't have the time or energy to spend on this shit.

Zines or just having heart-to-hearts with people are a better method of transference, but while it'd be mad condescending to say we have to dumb shit down for poor folk, it'd definitely help if we could explain the basics of class theory without using ten or twenty concepts you have to have in depth knowledge of a certain book to read. I mean shit, I'm just learning what tome the concept of intersectionality was developed in, because I've always been working with a lay definition taught to me in queer circles. Then I saw someone get shouted at for using a faulty definition of it (granted, he kinda deserved it) on my feed and like, I wouldn't describe tumblr as really leftist in the least so much as half well-meaning kids trying to do right by their peers and half performative liberals trying to get brownie points, but it'd at least help if this shit was more widely available and disseminated or we could be more patient explaining concepts to people who ask. My own understanding is faulty, but it was still enough to get a friend still stuck on the class before race train to realize he was shooting himself and people he cared about in the foot.

The right part only applies if the audience is white male. Anyone else will be called an sjw cuck f****** n******* c*** whore. And they'll also eat each other alive if they find out their mates have jewish heritage or are bi or something.

Otherwise, yeah.

There's a new kind of right-wing emerging imo. One that excepts certain races as long as they stick to the dominant culture and don't do anything to stand out. Old conservatism rejected weed smoking hipsters, women who had sex outside of marriage, black people and non WASP men but now they seem to latch onto anyone willing to uphold the status quo.

hello raddlerium. Its good to see you again. my computer doesn't turn on anymore after tumbling in the car for about week so that's been a nice cold turkey like maybe with cranberry sauce but still feelin yall close in the meandering contemplations as i am, here, currently. i watched episode like6ithink thismorning of Serenity and enjoyed at the end where mal told the pessimistic imposter something about how he doesn't work alone, that show always gets me to cry and smile. yestertday found a 99 year old man lost and i got to help him get home, that was cool to meet him, he had a story to tell! tried tuning up the truck but i somewhow broke it instead. the kitten had kittens! they are 8 days old. 3 0f them, 1 all white and 2 black with white feet. she is a really good mom. i love my mom, she's pretty nice too.

Congratulations on the kittens! You have been missed.

Next Year's 30 year old actually gave me back "Miss Perfect" if you want me to pass her along. She's a used for-parts-or-repair 32 bit laptop/tablet convertible who was born in 2006 and came here with her three comrades a couple of years ago.

She went by "Ms." when she was with dd. She's not picky, she's just not married. I can libreboot her for you, which would make her safer but then she wouldn't have sound or be able to run proprietary software in an emergency so it's your choice and this belongs on a flipping PM!!!!

Your mom is obviously awesome, though, because people like you don't just show up out of thin air.
