I really don't know much of internet things and indulged myself with technological ignorance.. This is really a good community!

I would think that this would be one of the safest places for people who aren't into the internet right now. There are all sorts of forums for computers, security culture, privacy, etc. and I think many of us like to help new computer/internet users as a way of reinforcing and honing our own skills, motivating ourselves to stay up to date, and putting our frustration about the general state of things online, the victimization of our friends and families by predatory corporations, and our inability to help them to good use.

I might come looking for someone like you after a negative experience with member who wouldn't listen to me because I need you just as much as you need me. It's a different paradigm than "calling customer support" entirely.

There are enough of us here that if I get too full of myself and give you inappropriate or incomplete advice, someone is bound to call me out on it and point you in a better description.

That's a fuckload of "I"s, but the only mind I am actually privileged enough to be able to read is my own, so I use that pronoun a lot. It leaves room for someone else to come along and say "Well, I disagree and so does everyone else here." without causing unnecessary drama.
