This reminds me of this one guy at the psych ward who would always be rather aimlessly walking around. You could tell he had no real purpose to move other than to move. I would notice nurses and other patients get annoyed with him because they would either try to force him to sit to attend group or he would get in people's personal space sort of. So they would kind of get fed up with his constant movement and tell at him. But there was literally very little else of interest for anyone to do there that wasn't very, VERY structured and mind numbing. You couldn't even get a book to read outside specific times.
Anyways, this reminded me of him and how he did subvert authority by always walking around and then getting back up a minute later when the nurses sat him down.

Yeah that's a pretty cool story plus a good example of what I'm talking about. Thx

Each day I don't practice some active movement is a wasted day. The act of going out for a walk with no purpose at hand is most often a very rewarding experience. Staving off the constructed path, turning to "unusual" directions, and seeing aspect of the same environment from different perspective gives said surrounding more life. The amount of ideas that are automatically produced during said activity is also a nice bonus.

Me: Talking freely. Captive audience: 😔
I'm getting overwhelmed by so much freedom. I thought today was free talk in languages you're practicing?
I'm not sure how much effort I want to put into a Halloween cosplay. I've decided to do Jahy and I have the body type to do either adult form or kid form, but adult form is harder and cold to move around outside at night and an oversized demon world restoration shirt would be cute and vaguely warmer.

yes, sorry, only got home in the late afternoon (and completely forgot about it anyway ^^")
Also a bit confused that there seem to be many free talks going on right now
but yes, the different language one needs to stay a thing!

I see I missed a few things on Raddle. Had a real busy and all too social weekend, and got some good exercise for my skinny ass. I feel entirely spent. Might need a couple days of calm and reading to feel like myself again.

I've just finished episode 1 of gen V, a spinoff of the boys. Similar vibe so far, it's entertaining. Speaking of TV, I learned today that season 2 of fog hill of the five elements came out. So I'm hyped for a great week of TV!
otherwise I didn't do much this weekend, I didn't even go to the market so no cheap fresh fruits for me this week. I did walk to the laundromat and back so that's a small win for moonlune.
OH on fridy I went to a concert and there were nazi punks in the pogo.

I know with grapes people make ice wines in the cold because the cold breaks the vines and starts the ripening/sweetening process early! Are medlars kind of like that where they're really sweet in the cold?

mmh fresh apple juice is the best! Lucky you :)
a pogo the thing where people push & shove each other at punk & metal concerts. It's usually a good experience (when there's no nazis), rough but kinda wholesome at the same time.
I've eated medlars for the first time this year! It was a good experience, I'd eat them again. I've never tasted cornelian cherry, does it taste like cherry?

Feel kind of rested after this weekend went for some nice bike rides and slept a lot. Am also pleased because there's a holiday this week so I got the day off from work.
Annoyed with people and their expectations

I don't have much to say besides there are this tiny flies today that are continuing to bite me even after slathering on bug spray. It's an otherwise beautiful day, but I need to keep moving or they'll bite me.
I've been bitten several times while writing this. I'm not sure what these things are; I don't think I've seen them before.

Online friend cancelled their plans with me today. I dont know them incredibly well yet but They have been going through a lot of stuff lately and are clearly suicidal. they told me last night about smth that happened yesterday regarding them i wont talk abt but it aint helping their state. I hope they are ok.
Been playing a video game called spiritfarer. It is both comfy and depressing. Its a bit slow paced and repetitive but I like it.
Watched a kids movie called Penguin Highway. There are two sections where the main character talks about boobs and I wasnt expecting that in a kids movie so it gave me a good laugh.

I've played Spiritfarer a lot, but my progress in it stalled the more I got into it. I love the concept of the game and the peaceful vibes, but I agree about the repetitiveness. If you're interested in similar (some would would say better) games, I can't recommend Sky: Children of the Light enough. If I end up only playing one video game for the rest of my life - something that's looking very likely with the habits I've been shifting lately - it's definitely going to be Sky.

My mom has a very important event this week and it's held in a distant village from our city. She asked me to come with her because she needed a second driver in case she feels bad or tired. It was the first time I drove a very long distance (abt 900km) and cars are so scary Q_Q Also my poor butt barely handled it.
That's not the only reason I came with her though. The event she has is a shamanist ritual which I've seen a lot of before but this one is pretty unique and I want to see how it goes.
Basically in Buryat buddhist-shamanist culture there are some families who bear shaman's supernatural skills. When a person with such skills dies in material world they become a spirit, or sakhyusan in Buryat, and chooses the next person from the family to become shaman.
So the thing is my mom was chosen by one such spirit and this summer she started diving more deep into this and learning under a more experienced person. She participates in a bunch of summer rituals so she can get spirits' approval and become a full-fledged shaman.
When stuff like this happens I try to not miss this because it's a very interesting topic although I'm not a spiritual person. I'm also happy that my mom enjoys this very much, because a few years ago I kinda felt she was tired of everyday life and I didn't know how to help. But noe I see how energetic she is and it's cool.

Oh wow more free talks, yay!
I am doing a writing challenge for myself where I gotta write something ''horror'' for each day of October. Currently finishing up day 1 and its almost midnight so I gotta hurry it up lmao.

Maybe build relationships with plants, rocks or animals, it may seem silly, but you may find an alternative to loneliness.
Animists have been doing it for thousands of years.

No pet rocks then, maybe find a wild rock to get to know? Think of the wild rock shows

Apologies if this seems insulting, some people put great emphasis and gain fulfillment from their relationship to the natural / in-organic things in their environment.

Was doing some laundry and realized have seen any discussion here on the subject.
I use All free clear powder detergent because my spouse has sensitive skin, I don't particularly like dyes or fragrance, I don't feel like I'm buying a jug of water and it's easy to measure.
We recently go white bed sheets with the idea we can bleach stains out of them and keep them looking nice longer. So far that plan seems to be working.

Do we have a forum for asking noob tech questions? Bc i have some, specifically about phone design.
Like why are SIM cards necessary? Why isn't SIM information just stored in your phone? (Not like an eSIM where it's still a chip, just in your phone. I mean why is there a separate chip at all?)
And would it be possible to build a Faraday cage into a phone, that at least worked when it's offline and not plugged into anything? Like if there was a really fine mesh over the screen that went between the pixels, would it work?
I don't want to post them in f/tech bc that looks like it's more for articles
BLVDE wrote

yes
but you won't be able to just toggle that off (unless you have a mechanical mechanism) and could rather just remove the coms
an idea i once had but never seen the light was a phone built with some raspberry
it'd use a usb stick for mobile connection which you could just plug in/out whenevr you want
Like why are SIM cards necessary?
probably bc the way the com system was built and then never changed
another thing would be that in most countries you need to identify yourself to get one, so yay for authority :/
Why isn't SIM information just stored in your phone?
I like this idea and i feel like it would be easy to implement it as a certificate you could just install on your device and done
soairse wrote

Yeah I was thinking about something like a tiny motor that would screw and unscrew a bolt connected to the antenna, so if someone tries to disable all electronics in the area you'd will still work. But I realized a phone isn't much use for any length of time with no connection, so it would be simpler to just wrap it in foil or something when not using it. I bet a built-in cage might still have some uses though, like with laptops or something.
Thanks

Attended a family wedding (a lesbian one ^^)
but yeah... family... don't really know what to talk to them
for some reason the most interesting people were the ones not from my country (nicer vibes)
one thing was really weird though
when i said goodbye to one person, we hugged and during the hug they said 'i love you'
i internally freaked out a bit
later (we both were still around) they told me that my eyes are really expressive and that they gonna crash their car if they think about it and making a gesture of a racing heart
so that's that
they're way older than me and i think they meant it in a nice way and that they like me as a person (don't think it was flirting), but it's kinda weird
Helped a friend (actually no clue what our relationship state is, but also a bit unsure about how i wanna do relationships at all) unclutter their room at their parents place
Also chilled in the sun and had a siesta bc we were both tired
later went to a friend of theirs and pet the dogs and played some tabletop games (cluedo and a word game)
then i walked direction home
started at 8 and wanted to walk till 10
but the path was shitty (not at all?) marked at one place and i ended up walking a circle two times bc there was only one specific way that actually was going further
wasted like aan hour and it really fucked with me, but when i finally managed it was okay again
then ended up walking till midnight bc i didn't find a good sleeping spot any sooner
ended up at the start of a forest a little bit aside of the hiking path
sleep was okayish, but i kept waking up a couple of times and being stiff in different places
woke up at 11 and took a nice shit in the forest and ate something and then continued
unluckily the first thing was going up a hill and i don't have that sort of energy in the morning and needed to rest multiple times to get up there
only for it to go down again
and then a bit up
and down and out of the forest, away from the hill
afterwards it was mostly through villages and through fields
ended up taking the bus a bit earlier than i thought i would, but kept being exhausted
then went home with the bus and since chilling here
my feet don't hurt that much anymore (i walked in sock shoes with an insole added) but my hip is hurting for some reason (but it started already in the morning)
would love to know more people to do something together
i could visit people from my family, but there i really miss the ability to cuddle together
would be cool to be able to meet someone every(other) day, bc when i once did that, i was doing quite well for the time i managed to keep it up
there's a speedfriending on friday, so maybe i manage to get to know some people there, but also a bit anxious as i never know what to talk to people i don't know
still a bit anxious about going shopping
was a few times since i got busted and also gave me some % off, but still uneasy about doing it in bigger stores
if it gets colder again it'll be easier though as i have a prefered method of doing it

I often have really good ideas that are awesome then stop doing it bc reasons and forget about it then later on rember and have fun doing this super awesome thing again.
I rember d my thoughts about the civilization space and movement and how ppl experience space is inherently based on degrading then and making their lives worse. Just as being sedentary in housing stops energy and flow to allow greater control. Sedentary in how u are awake also decreases ones energy and ability and allows one to be more presentable to authority.
Hard AF to explain but near constant active movement through spaces is very weird way to shake up days and I like it a lot and it's very good at fun. School teaches and programs ppl to sit still and not move around for a reason. Innately how u move and use spaces and ur body is a very effective strategy for challenging civ in life. There are many doors and pathways opened when u just move around a bunch and do wacky stuff as u move that it's impossible to explain.
