Probably just desperate for attention and a sense of camaraderie. I don't like the way they go about it, but there's no need to fed-jacket them without anything more than vague suspicions.

Spot on I’m just a lonely person because I only have two friends in town in a city of 1 million and it’s nearly impossible to make new friends because society is so fucking impersonal now. One of my friends doesn’t really want to hang out or do anything ever and the other is just cringe as fuck and silently hates on me in my religion.
