their whole list of 'corrections' basically comes down to 'i like this thing better' and 'this thing doesn't count because (anal retentive bullshit like anarchist-run mastodon instances not counting as twitter alternatives because... why again?)

the cherry on top of the shit cake is saying reddit is better than raddle because they don't know me

The op was about anarchist and libre alternatives not the most nerd mr.robot-lsrper...

Is boring to deal with these accounts coming here just to annoy one or other user

The most ridic part: Something doesn't need to be exactly like something else to be an alternative to it. Like how does needing to make an account make a site not an image upload (imgur) alternative? How does Pleroma not qualify as a blogspot alternative if it can be used to write blogs? How does having less space than gmail make an email service not a gmail alternative?

Proof?

Only thing I heard was the case where sensitive infos was handed over to the French police by Protonmail due to a "criminal investigation". Which is problematic in a Google way... but doesn't make them "CIA".

Anything else you got?

I'd like to know because I and a few friends are using it. More because it's not playing with metadata like Google does, and also handles spam better.

Wow, fucking MIT were at it again.

Switzerland being basically an archipelago of the US in Europe, this doesn't come off as surprising.

Why don't we have federated email services after all this time?

I like tutanota it's more secure, smaller scale, open source, and has a better reputation ;)

They look like a German-based version of Riseup?

I'd yet have to see en email service that's federated... but this looks alright.

I feel you are being quite obstructive and judgemental here, Ziq, as a lot of the suggestions in that comment -if not all- are verified as accurate. There's no problem in improving upon a post that was lacking a few things.

it's deliberately a condensed list of the actual wiki w/online_platforms

well ok then

there's certainly egg on my face
