I put my head through a window once. And my new years resolution to not put my head through anymore windows has been a success, I also threw myself through a glass door to dramatically end a fight with my brother. These days I don't drink alcohol...

Smashed? none.

Personally, I think doing something transgressive as a show is a waste of time and almost suicidal. How long have people been smashing windows? If people have been smashing windows and flying black flags this long, then what is wrong? I am leaning towards the more targeted strengthening and materialisation of interpersonal bonds as a way towards anarchy, or at least towards survival, rather than public displays, which may make people feel good but make us a target and don't end up changing things.

Also, if there are many people who feel unheard during the "revolution" of relationship and culture, then it is doomed. I imagine negotiation and openness will be essential.

Someone once pointed out to me β€œA lot of business couldn’t continue to operate if they had to hire someone to replace their windows every month, it’s basically democracy for what businesses operate in your neighborhood, and each broken window is a vote πŸ—³β€

That is probably so, but it just stimulates the economy further, funneling more money towards the already wealthy and opening up more space for even larger corporations. I don't want to choose the businesses that operate; I want to get rid of them, and think that there have to be better, subtler ways of doing it.

I smashed a car window with a log once when I was younger

Just recalled another story from when I was even younger, during my pre-teens. Me and my best friend at the time was at a sleepover at another friends' apartment, whose mom was often away so we were alone. It was late evening and we had gotten bored of just playing video games all day, so we went to this nearby window pane factory and threw rocks at the window panes they had stored outside for our own amusement. These were heavy window panes with non-tempered glass, so we didn't smash them into pieces, but we definitely made them crack. Anyway, a van pulled up with the high beams on so we ran like the brats that we were.
