An unwanted house guest arrived while I was at work. I guess we had a repairman in our furnace room and they unwittingly scared a mouse who booked it out of the furnace room up the stairs and into our house (whose door was unfortunately open). My wife is irrationally afraid of mice and by the time I got home she had my kiddo all freaked out. (kiddo was afraid to walk on the floor lest the mouse come out and bite her feet). I showed her some pictures of mice on the computer and talked with her about when and why mice bite and then she kind of got excited and wanted to see it.

Anyway I dismantled the death traps my father-in-law placed in my abscense. I set some traps of my own (basically some food on the end of a few pieces of silverware that are teetering over a bucket). I hope the cats don't stumble across the thing trapped in one of the buckets.

Also I know you are dying to know what computer I am now using. So feast your eyes on the gateway C-141x I put arch on it to just get it up and running but I am currently running the good old dd on a usb right now so I can set up guix sometime this weekend. We will see how this goes. I don't really know lua so it will be an adventure. still might change my mind, thing might have trouble compiling stuff

Guix uses Scheme, not Lua, right?

you are correct I meant to say lisp not lua. Guix uses GNU Guile which yeah is an implementation of scheme

I am not happy whit the small amount of nuts gathered this year (still not finished) too many things in my head, lack of a "proven method", I arrived at the best time for harvest confused and not ready.
At least I am understanding a lot of things that I will need next year.
And I will be forced not to base my food on the fall harvest but will have to come up with something else

I pissed off one of my neighbors because I didn't pick up my dog's shit. Wasn't even on a lawn; hell it wasn't even anywhere where anyone would be walking. I'm not even the only one that doesn't do it. Dude straight up fucking stared at me for 5 minutes before yelling at me and driving away.

All this has taught me is that I should make sure my dog shits somewhere where he can't see because I'm not interested in provoking someone that gives me snitch vibes but I'm also not going to force myself to walk with a bag full of dog shit for several minutes until I get to a trash bin first thing in the morning every day.

yeah guy sounds like an asshole

at one point in my childhood my dad got pretty pissy about dogs shitting in the local playground, tho id say he was more justified. cause it was the playground, where kids play, and it was snowing in winter.
