So we really seem so menacing to the average reddit chump? Like I know we dwell with lots of theoretical points that may scare the average white American internet dude and pose a threat to their white masculinity...

Do we look really a bad option compared to Lemmy? Lol what they fear to even bother engage in a smear campaign?

I thougth raddle was terrifying. I stayed becasue I was fascinated with watching people talk on the "Vegan ISIS forum".

Now in fairness to my recallation a hot post on the front page when I joined was "if you saw jeff bezos would u kill him" And all the responses were not have a problem with murdering someone in cold blood but the practical effectiveness of killing him. I mean according to the FBI people on this site support actual terrorism "eco terrrorism which terrorizes no one but is just monkey wrenching bulldozers and arson.

To the lay person raddle is a site of a bunch fo people who read obscure sacred texts who then support terrorism, horrible criminals and dress up in black and beat the crap out of people in the streets. A bunch of people planning to and salivating at the idea of taking away all security in their live from the government to the luxury goods they rely on.

I don't think these things are correct obviously but I'm pretty sure thats what most people think if they browse raddle. Tho it depends on what posts they read too.

Is raddle.me actually mentioned in US intelligence agency docs? I'd love to read that.

lettuceLeafer wrote

no, anarchism and eco terrorism are defined as threats on the FBI website. And many people on this site would be defined as eco terrorists. Raddle.me is never mentioned by the FBI or Homeland Security to my knowlege

Both attacks, months apart, happened while r/piracy was debating on whether lemmy or raddle was best to move to.

i went errand running yesterday and grossly underestimated my ability to walk and be on my feet for so long, so I'm in tons of pain today. i SHOULD have used one of the motorized carts but there's a lot of internalized shame that got triggered the last time i used one and i heard some people making fun of me. i thought i was over that but i guess not.

of course today is also a day where I'm super motivated to clean my house which i want to do before Monday and i have plans on Sunday so I'm left with today and tomorrow to get everything done so i really need to be able to function today.

I was browing r/disability today and saw a lot of posts from people ashamed to use mobility aids in public and then suffering in pain because of it. it seems to be super common unfortunately.

yeah.

i tore my Achilles tendon a few years ago (idk it's been like 6 or 7 years) and those don't heal on their own. so while i CAN walk and stand for short times i have a very bad limp and bad stability on my feet. most of my problems stem from the limp which makes my lower back hurt a lot.

since i am also fat people just assume that I'm too lazy and fat to walk on my own. so there's the added public shame of existing in a fat body in public as a disabled person.

it's a mine field that i think of a lot because I'm going to be working when i finish school so I'm already thinking of how I'm going to be able to navigate commuting to work since my state has practically no mixed use zoning so jobs are rarely close to where you live.

i don't want to buy another car if i can avoid it but public transportation is also almost nonexistent in most major cities, or if there is public transportation it's usually there to service the college students. so lots of bus lines service student housing and campus and have less service to the broader city.

I think it's great that people make it's women's problem that they don't wanna jerk of to u. Like there is a societal punishment for women who many men would not jerk off to. It sounds absurd but that's absolutely what happens in reality.

Great way to base how to treat people.

oh shit thats a really interesting take. It makes sense. I"ll have to mull it over as this would change my perspective quite a bit. Thanks for sharing its a pretty good idea and thought process.

I guess my only mild critique which is borderline not even a critique but more a related thought I had. While I think this take is really good and probably quite right it is important for me to keep straight in my mind that fem people following conventional beauty standards aren't inherently doing it for men. Like idk matching traditional can still be feminst and emancipitory is thats how someone genuinely wants to present themself.

Now ovi its way different to do it because that is what is glamorized in culture and what one truly enjoyed based on their personality. One isn't emancipatory while the other is. Now sure you can argue that those two can't easily be separated yada yada. Which is true as with many things as everyone's wants and desires are influenced by cultural values. But its not cool to let the pendulum swing to much and create a new cultural pressure of how women should dress by viewing women who dress conventionally as less self serving or assume they aren't doing it for themself which is patronizing.

To be clear I dont think you think this but it was a thought I caught myself having so I wanted to take not of that.

i even have a mobility scooter, but i can't take it with me when i do big errands because i don't have a ramp or platform to put it on my truck. i use it when i'm around town but have to leave it when i go out to the city. it sucks.

maybe with my student loans this semester i'll pick on up.

I wonder what it is that makes people leave raddle. It's probably nothing to worry about, some folks simply move on from that waste of time that is shit-posting on the internet. But maybe there's some stories left untold.

Oh well. I'll be around. Deal with it >: )

Oh I read it two weeks ago it's a pretty fun read, lots of nice punchlines. Having read many people who were inspired by him I didn't learn anything groundbreaking, but it's fun to read the one who influenced those who influence me. Also I have a friend irl who swears by thoreau so it was nice to discuss the book with them.

It's funny to see him being sour about someone paying to bail him out after 1 day of prison.

Destroying lettuchead in the marketplace of ideas reminded me something great about individualist anarchist philosophy that makes it unique. With all the praxis being arround what u can do you learn extremely quick what works and what doesn't. If you have a belief go do it. If you can't do it its a bad tactic. So growth goes really fast as u are constantly testing your beliefs.

A tankie will never have the chance to challenge their beliefs bc they almost never will have a revolution and if they do they can just say it was the immperialists or the trots. Same wtih liberalism,ur so reliant on the politicians that even social democrats will never test their ideas in the US.

So like if I was a democrat so far none of my politics would be tested and blow up in my face and I would just stagnate. But for me I just do shit and it blows up in my face so I gotta come up with something new. Now granted I maybe should stick with stuff a little longer than I do but regardless the nature of effectively being a individualist is constantly stress testing your ideas to see if they work in practice.

Its so easy to be some tough person and hype yourself up on what you will do. But like when you actually do what you say because your plans are only what you can do in a fairly short timeline u can't run your mouth. But the constant change means your ideas are constantly changing as you adapt your strategy to your current situation. But take marxist leninism shit has not changed 1924. These people wanna belive they are a threat when they stopped being a threat by the 1940 and just never changed.

So all they can do is read dusty on books and take over reddit forums. And for conservative liberals they have the same problem. With this whole thing about the IRS taking their guns as collateral for taxes so many people were like "come and take em see what happens. And to manys credit they did admit that they would probably die but def would kill some IRS agents.

But like in my mind this is fucking ridiculous. Like many extremists I've thought about what would happen if I get raided for whatever reason. The answer is allways u just can't let that happen bc there is no win scenario. For one most people in their house aren't paying good attention. I'll be reading, working, sleeping, shitting, watching videos ect. So what would happen if the governmetn would be raided I would be doing my thing maybe hear a bang at the door if that. Get flash banged then arrested.

There would be no stand off,and if I got lucky and I didn't get falhsbanged, had a weapon and didn't freeze after seeing a bunch of SWAT guys so I just fight them they would just shoot me dead.

And lets say I"m some intel god and I know they are coming and I get a bunch of troops which I don't have and get a bunch of guns I don't have. Guess what I still will not kill anyone. Because civilian firearms don't penetrate plate carriers and they won't change in anyway they will just set up a siege waiting behind cover until u give up. Or they get bored and just throw flashbangs until your house "accidentally" get lit on fire.

Honestly most political extreemism is compltely useless because all the ideas won't be tried in reality because most of it is so extreeme that its only fun to LARP and not do. And people will refuse to be accountable and be extremely critical of their effectiveness bc they don't wanna feel like a bad guy. So making their ideas effective will never happen because that would require blame and the cause of mistakes to sometimes fall on yourself and not just someone else.

And once you take away lack of accountability and LARP there is nothing for vast majority of political extremists.

Also I laughed when watching hasan (yeah embarrassing) bc he said that no one things its fatphobic to only be attracted to skinny women. And I was like hmm, wow I'm pretty extreme when social democrats think my belifs are a parody lol. Same thing with the whole gay people are fine with straight people existing. While I think being straight is trans phobic. Which I get a kick out of, not that I think my ideas are wrong because of liberal nonsense.

Also please call me chairman sexpat now. fucking hell lol

My laptop can run Sonic Lost Worlds!

I've been wanting to play it since it came out on Wii U/3DS. I'm liking it so far, but there's no quick way to change lanes as in Sonic Generations, having to slow down to go to a slightly different route really breaks the flow for me. And the blue whisp is only fun in tunnels. Otherwise, no complaints.

I actually booked me moving to puerto rico. Not super happy about it but I'm gonna run out of money if I stay in the states plus I have no desire to keep up the more extravagant life in the states and doing otherwise is tabboo. And don't have enough money to buy land.

Puerto rico isn't much cheaper so I wouldn't wanna stay but I think its for the best to start there so I can get better at spanish and learn about being out of the united states before just jumping into mexico. Maily because there are more things to learn, more cultural differences, visa runs, different laws, legal stuff about taxes, passports less people knowing english.

So excited but still can't be super happy about moving to a literal colony. And definely not super happy about flying on a airplane due to emissions. But also living in latin american would be pretty cool since I'm not dependent on the local economy to make money. The laws are way better, the people don't like being a world policeman, not nearly as extravagant.

Though on the other hand it is beneficial to be more culturally understanding and prob way easier to grap differences of 3rd world and american life. not to mention the 350 - 150 a month with utilities for rent in mexico and columbia is quite tantalizing. Prob would be pretty happy but I gotta cough my excitement based on all the negative things associated with such a change, having to pay higher prices for rent, massive emissions plane, kinda invading peoples areas ect. But I'm happy with the choice.

Plus knowing how to flee the country is a cool skill to know.
