I honestly don’t have the means to tell whether Trump or Biden is worse given how liberals just sit on their asses and resist nothing while blues are in power.

I look at these matters from a taoist perspective. There is no worst...there's only the illusion of difference.

Listening to the waves or just drifting in the water is so relaxing.

That's great! Maintaining good health is important :P

Taking some time for yourself to unwind keeps away the burnout

Kettles appear to be more efficient than microwaves for making tea, but I can’t tell for sure because my kettle says to put minimum two cups of water in before turning it on.

If I’m by myself it’s heating double, which probably negates the energy saved using it.

But your Kettle is trying to help you stay hydrated, 2 cups is the minimum to help you drink more tea.

Usually and I do tea or coffee, or even Mate, I end up drink more than enough..

The microwave is also heating the mug.

So if you like hot mugs, I think the microwave maybe the choice for you.

Alternatively, make two cups of tea and drink the second one cold later (maybe iced tea or something)

People say that, by mug gets plenty warm though if I pour boiling water.

Might try this!

There's no time like the present, just kill him and then you can piss on his grave the easy way.

time isn't real edition

Friday is a state of mind, you don't need to wait for some sort of "end of Thursday" where it is Friday for everyone. Realistically, there will never be a worldwide Friday wherein everyone is Free Talking.

As such we must bring Friday internally, consume it, and make Friday our own. Lead by example, live your own Friday.

I know people here who don't know about anarchist theorists like we would and assume that Hakim Bey is POC because of their pseudonym. It's quite misleading for them because they assume a level of in-group knowledge/solidarity.

I'll raise my hand to this, thought they were of West Asian descent originally.

Peter Lamborn Wilson - White Bearded Men Club
Hakim Bey - Way cooler than all their white friends.

Is it just me, or are there basically no overtly anarchist resources on parenting? That is a problem.

5

Fool wrote

I actually think a lot of good parenting resources are fairly anarchist compatible.

Learn responsibility via play
Discipline doesn't work
Children learn via mimicry - don't display behaviour you don't want them to pick up
Etc.

Or did you mean like Anarchist parents groups or something?

Tequilx_Wolf OP wrote

I meant texts mostly. Are those names of books?

5

Fool wrote (edited )

No they're not text names, I was just thinking the types of concepts suggested, but I could probably find some book names or authors. I can't seem to get interested in them... I should probably try again.

The language used are in no way anarchist but the concepts are compatible.

Here's some titles from my partner's book shelf
No Bad Kids - about discipline without punishment/shaming. Help them understanding boundaries for safety, consequences, etc. and understanding children.
The Whole Brained Child - about understanding brain development in order to better communicate with children.
Raising a Secure Child - about a parenting model called "circles of security", it is about providing a stable base of security so that children can explore and discover on their own with knowledge that there is always a place for comfort and security to return to.

I suppose none of them challenge the concept of parents, but they're all just about protecting the child and respecting them as autonomous individuals.

It seems like those are fairly compatible with values in social anarchism. Building relationships on mutual respect and trust, rather than on domination and subordination. I've been trying to learn more about social anarchism in general...

Agreed, though I think everything anarchist works this way - on a case-by-case basis based on context - and same for everything we can think in terms of useful approaches and considerations, even if they are applied or not applied or applied dynamically depending on the child. I dunno.

There are a lot of youth liberation zines that often have sections/talk about parenting. I'm pretty sure, been a while since I read some of them

Tough times ahead: my mom is getting sued and things are gonna get bad; my brother basically ran off the other person taking care of the rent; we're looking at a new place (rent would cost more there), but whether or not we would even be able to get it is dubious.
