Been a while since I've looked at Gemini....I mostly just used it for one particular service that took various news outlets and posted their content on the protocol, making it text-only and much easier to read.

Well, the original Gemini Project page has a link to a "List of Mirrored Services" now, which seems to do pretty much the same thing

Spent a bit of time jumping around the Leo web ring on Gemini, made me realize how many things like that I missed about the old internet, I really enjoy how quickly Gemini pages tend to load compared to html, I find when pages take too long to load it really takes a lot of fun out of reading random pages. A problem I see with the web is that hosting cost incentivized the amount of ads we see on the web, and the amount of ads slows down browsing and clutters the web etc

Yes! I can relate, even if I never knew the "old internet", for me Gemini is the new one. After spending some time on gemini it just feels weird to see websites.
