am starting a bird cult

So, I'm ever fascinated in cults and have watched a lot of documentaries about them. One thing I've noticed is it is very necessary for a cult adherent to perform corrective behavior when they have done something outside of what the group wants. My usual maneuver when I fuck up socially is to distance myself and then run away from that social group/person/setting forever and just feel bad about it for the rest of my life. While this makes me sad and regret-filled, it also appears to be good protection against cultism.

So, I can't join your cult, even though I want to. Because I'd just wind up being embarrassed and upset, and then I'd leave and you'd have wasted your time when you could've spent it on another cult member instead.

But at least you'll both have the memories. ✨

I'm just picturing some epic action movie, as the cult tries to prevent you from leaving.
