some rich asshole who lives several States away has decided the area would be better as yet another parking lot with shitty rental units to add to his collection of slums throughout the USA.

im upset and just wanted to cry online about it. most people I know IRL think its unfortunate but no big deal which just makes it more upsetting. idk. hope there's others out there who will feel for those beings that aren't considered worthy of consideration. not that it'll do any good.

it's a place that I see daily. it'll be tough to see it's gradual destruction. wish me strength.

It's difficult enough to find any libertarian or anti-capitalist individuals where I live, and the few I have met (out of town) were all Marxists of the boring and/or authoritarian kind. It would be lovely to find anarchists, for the small chance that someone would be open to some past-midnight shenanigans. We can start small, you know, get clever and artsy with some wheatpasting. Maybe plant some weed in front of the police building. Destroy some billboards. I'm open to all kinds of fun. But deep down I wanna mess with construction, in an elvish way. One can dream, right?

Writing this comment, I keep thinking about the lawnmowing-enthusiasts that I have as neighbors. (I swear, two of them mow their lawn twice a week, for an absolute shit concerto titled "retirement boredom". As if the highway wasn't noisy enough.) And also about the general tendency to dominate and 'correct' nature in every way possible, even if only in their privately owned prison cells. I wonder if that can be explained by the lack of control people have over their own lives, or if it's more of an ideological thing, where you earn your respect by showcasing your disciplined maintenance efforts. Who knows.

Got a little ranty there. Anyway, sorry about your stretch of woods; wishing all my strength to you, I don't need it today.

it's definitely ideological - all civilizationists insist on dominating nature in every possible way they can to show they're superior to the wild and wholly removed from it
