I've been having dreams about a girl I'm trying to get over lately, which absolutely sucks. I can mostly push down feelings during the day or distract myself enough, but how can I begin to control what I dream about at night?

might help to meditate a bit on something more positive as youre laying in bed before sleep. even when you think you're over something it can still come back in your dreams though. wish you luck with that

but maybe instead of feeling the need to push it down, you could talk about it? perhaps it’s all bubbling up in your dreams because you push it down and your brain is like, well, this is the only way i can process it.

Yeah I'm trying. I want to talk with my friends about it, but in the past when I've used my friends as therapists of sorts too much, they get overwhelmed and leave me. I've got actual therapy tomorrow though, so hopefully that will help

This happens to me all the time. I'm so sorry. On the other hand, I'm good at listening and being a therapist for my friends. I wind up feeling like my friendships are very one-way. I'm glad you have a therapist to talk to - I hope they help.
