It's been 5 months since being promoted, more responsibilities, no salary increase, no new benefits. Half way through I was also required to come over an extra day, which broke my schedule and my kids see me even less when they want me to spend more time with them.

It's been interesting to see behind the curtains and it's exactly what I though it was. Disdain for unions, workers, starting from my low level managers peers and above, despite most being not far off in neither power or salary from them. A complete inability to understand why people wouldn't work more for the same, or do more effort for barely any benefit, too.

One thing I'm certain, once I leave, I won't do management work again.

On news bigger than myself, there are talk of police reform after they "accidentally" murdered a religious couple on their car after confusing it with one the cops were looking for. It's a shame it took pristine victims for police reform to be put on the agenda, specially when current police force can be directly traced back to the tyrant's death squad.

It was supposed to happen after the 3 months testing period. Apparently, there are still reservations from management despite the improvements over my small tenure. What makes things worse is that the increase is a pity and I wouldn't be surprised that they're waiting for my yearly increase and call that "the raise".
