I've been growing a cultivar I found growing under an ancient stone bridge that has no glochids or spines and oval yellow-green fruit which is also glochid-less.

I finally read Armed Joy; thus making the teeniest tiniest dent in the list of anarchist writings I have on queue. Maybe I'll be able to read two more by next year.

It's looking like I'll have to get a job soon since my mom is single again and she needs a new place to live.

Is Armed Joy good?

Mm...hard to say, honestly; I personally liked it, though I definitely feel like I didn't get too much from it; there wasn't anything particularly new to me, but Bonanno was able to give voice to a few ideas that I knew I had but couldn't really express. If you have an interest in Insurrectionary Anarchism, it's as good a place to start as any; at a whopping 30 pages, you should be able to finish it in a few hours at most. If you're not into Insurrectionary Anarchism (or critiques of organization and/or work) for whatever reason, you probably wouldn't care for it. I'm not too sure what others would find "good", so I can only give you a basic overview of what I thought and the contents of the book.

Being bi in a hetero relationship in a heteronormative culture is weird. By default, you're in the closet because you are doing the expected with the husband and kid. But sometimes, you're in the grocery store and Constant Craving plays through the shitty grocery store speakers and you feel gay as hell but you have no one to share that with because everyone just assumes.

I want to get one of those memory foam pillows, I've heard they're good. Up till now my pillows have been cotton, I don't know if I have a hard head or sweat like a pig but they always end up thin as a sheet.

Got a Valentine from the person I like, and gave them a valentine too. Valentine's day is a really cute holiday but I really wish that it weren't so corporate. It just feels forced and you can't really not do it.

Oh, and I would like to tell you all, Birds of Prey was awful. I wrote this on the day I watched it as a warning to my friends to not see it:

We watched Birds of Prey today. If you are a fan of the comic books, do not watch this trash movie. DC movies took a female ensemble comic book and turned it into an anti-woman movie, chock full of gendered violence that doesn't serve the story and female nudity used as set decoration. It all culminated in "The Birds of Prey are dorks", so it isn't even a necessary evil to force ourselves through to get a female ensemble hero franchise. Produced and directed by women so I would've never guessed this would happen. Not watching anything of theirs ever again. Nearly walked out during the scene in which a woman was forced to dance on a table and was stripped naked. For no fucking reason at all (though I am over gendered violence that "serves the story", I pointed out that it didn't serve the story for those who are still okay with that paradigm).

aw

hoping sonic doesn't fail too

i wonder why gail simone was only critical of cassandra cain, it sounds like ruining her is the least of the movie's worries

I hopes are low. They're going for "they appeared in our world" plot, those are rarely good.

A good sonic movie would be about a group of native creatures having their homes entrenched by a capitalist for development project. They native do ecoterrorism and win their lands back. It would get banned so damn fast.

I'm excited for Achille Mbembe's Brutalisme to be translated into English.

Aside from that, been reading some Mamdani lately, it's surprisingly accessible and good.
