Does anyone else want to drop out of society and just watch plants grow and watch star trek all day?
Catsforfun wrote
you have to live in a society to watch star trek
ziq wrote
I mean, I barely live in a society. If I didn't have to go to work and the supermarket, walking in the woods, watching things grow and watching star trek is all I'd do. If I didn't work, I would go months without seeing or speaking to another soul except the occasional hunter I give the stink eye to.

I am curious— what is different about talking to people on Raddle from talking in person for you?
ziq wrote (edited )
I have a speech impediment and other stuff I don't want to talk about, that results in me generally struggling to articulate or communicate well with spoken words.
The people on raddle, we've found each other, kindred spirits, all across the world. None of us are in close proximity to each other and finding people I can understand in my little world is impossible. All the people that have passed through my life have abused me.

I am only working one full-time job now, and while that crunches our finances significantly, it's really nice to feel somewhat human again. With my newfound "free-time" I've been able to spend more time with my kids, and this week got to testify in front of our city council about how their proposed change to our city charter that would remove all limitations to how much landlords could charge for security deposits would hurt the vast majority of the people in our city. They looked at me like I sprouted a third head. Fuck these fucking politicians. I know that they will always choose the monied class, but it fucking sucks to see it and feel it on a visceral level like that. I live in a small town. I know all of them. They know people who are struggling, they just don't give a single solitary fuck. I'm very definitely going to try and put together a tenant's union and fight these motherfuckers.

Just as the world is shrouded in snow and rain and icicles, the ground has thawed enough to dig an old, bitter dandelion root.
I did look for parsnip, but there was none I could find.
Now that I have tried to harvest more milkweed stalks, I realise that few are as perfect as the one I described.

I'm transferring to another college because I need to separate my personal life from my school life in order to properly (barely) function in either and it apparently took me about 3 years to realize this. Or, at least, I'm trying to; the new school wants my current school's official transcript, which is all well and good, but it also wants my high school transcript; the problem with that is that my old high school only gives out physical copies and only accepts cash. Why? I don't fucking know! It's a 3 hour drive away and I have no feasible means of getting there.
I graduated from high school around 5 years ago, but somehow it managed to find a way to piss me off in the present.

I made an article about the Liberal Party and how the "Liberal Reaction" works but they were tl'dr-ng it. Second was the idea that the nCoV was easily curable but we just don't have that much resources, they red-herring-ed then cancelled me
