Nobody asked for it, but here's my lucid dreaming starter kit:

First step: Pay more attention to your dreams. Make it a habit to try remember your dreams every morning, maybe even keep a dream journal. Don't think of sleep as "going unconscious for 8 hours", think of it as "entering dream world". This helps you make dreams feel more real, more stable, more relevant to you.

Second step: Every time something unexpected happens in real life, ask yourself "did that just really happen? Am I dreaming?". Reality checks in reality will lead to reality checks while dreaming. (Weird shit happens while dreaming, so there should be many opportunities for you to ask "did that just really happen??")

First time you get lucid, it will most likely not last long, it will probably lead to you waking up. To make dreams more stable, you gotta relax. Look around and force your brain to render the dream environment, keep the story going. If all you can think of is "oh shit I'm lucid, what do now?!", you will wake up.

It's like, you gotta find a balance between auto-pilot and being in control. If you autopilot for too long, you will fall back into a regular dream. I suggest you try super hero stuff first, like jump in the air and fly around. It's surprisingly one of the easier things you can do while lucid, and it should keep the dream stable.

Whenever I fly, I end up going through a wall and entering the void :(

I have lucid dreams every single time I listen to binaural beats after 5pm or so from the FOSS binaural beats app you can find on f-droid. Every single time.
