[test post] Having a shitty day? Week? Month? Life in general? Watch these puppies grow up! instagram.com

Submitted by Calistoga in idle

Shit sucks everywhere. Every day is a new nightmare. Escape from the humid, steaming, back alley dumpster that is 2017 by watching some puppies grow up.

Sunnyside Goldens has another new litter of puppies since their previous golden retriever litter ~10 weeks ago. They're golden doodles this time but god damn it they're still puppies. The bulk of their photos and videos are posted via the snapchat-like Stories feature that is only viewable in the instagram application.

Say what you will about puppy breeders in a world where abandoned and unwanted dogs being euthanized daily by the hundreds, and I'll most likely agree with you, but I'll take genuine smiles and fleeting moments of joy wherever I can get them..

I can only reply to comments by clicking the permalink URL. Is this intentional?

I do not see a reply link anywhere on page, either in my own threads or threads posted by someone else. Currently viewing on mac laptop via tor.

[edit] this may be because I haven't set tor's noscript to allow scripts. checking

[edit 2] that's the problem. gotta unblock scripts.

I'm not going to bother going further than this. Comment chains aren't limited like they were on the old site. Not this far, at least.

Let's see if it still works when there's a block of text.

If you’re waiting for the consumer class to rise up against their neoliberal masters, it’s just never going to happen. We’ve moved far beyond the times of the Russian/Spanish revolutions. Even in Greece, the most glaring example of a Western society torn apart and left for dead by neoliberal policy; the vast majority of the populace remain beholden to capitalism. Humanity has become so ensnared in this impossible maze that the only way out of it is collapse – collapse of industry, environment, culture, wealth, civilization. Humans demonstrate everyday that they won’t free themselves even as the world burns around them, but collapse will force some of us to abandon the neoliberal maze, and the rest will die clinging to its ashes.

Cool cool. Wonder what it looks like on mobile tho..

Hopefully not like the old site where it was horizontally condensed to the point that each line was only a few characters.

1

ziq wrote

It's not as bad as that, but mobile optimization hasn't happened yet so it'll get better.

Does the same thing for me. Your block of text up there was single words, blended with the vertical side lines, all the way down. Landscape view was better, though I could see a few more comments making that view just as horizontally condensed.

The lines bleed into the text and the text becomes condensed the further you scroll. It's fine if you hold the phone sideways, tho.

anything will be better than the old site's limit

The only way to reply to one of my own comments is by clicking the permalink option on the comment I want to reply to, then typing in the comment box that appears on the page that loads.
