I have wanted to go here for the winter all year. what worries me is getting killed or something because I'm a transgender lady/girl. for clarity, i physically can't match a guy in combat and if I try to fight back there's a risk of someone giving me a beating as though I'm capable of a fair fight. it's a realistic scenario for trans females.

sorry to be dark but just explaining... so what is like, los angeles like in the winter?

or some other small city to go to that's warm.

kinda what I'm asking is like what is the cumulative effect of probably 1/4 of all squatters moving to a single region for a season?

total madness? is everyone just happy to not be freezing/in Florida?

I really don't feel safe being on the street again but my heart knows that's where I belong and I don't have money to even stay housed all winter anyway.

California in the winter (and I'm assuming you're asking strictly for Southern California because you mention Los Angeles), is pretty warm the whole time. If you live there, it will seem cold, but it really gets into the 40's at the max most of the time at the dead of night. If you're close to the beach it stays in the 50/60's, and in the desert (depending on high or low desert) it gets down to 30's (high) or stays in the 70's (low). If you happen to be in certain places in the desert, it could very well be in the 80's at night.

My father is homeless, has been for about 6 years now. He's lived on Venice Beach to as far east as San Bernardino/San Jacinto. Considering I don't live there anymore and have experienced much harsher weather, there isn't anywhere I'd rather him be homeless honestly as far as the weather is concerned.

Source, me...I was born and raised in the Inland Empire...and stayed there till my early 20's.

Squatting depends on where you are. Some cities literally have unofficial policies to move homeless ppl to the edge of the city every morning...some desert communities are known for this.

There are real squatter "towns" in some part of the desert north of LA...not so much that I know of in the deserts of the IE.
