Don't be. I feel they found peace, as they were troubled/traumatised teenagers when they started having babies. I cut all contact at some point to break free of inherited trauma (it is very real). My life is pretty good now.

I also think the idea of being victimized by random strangers being your greatest risk is also really harmful. I think a lot of women don't realize that the most statistically likely person to physically attack them is their partner. Then when you include family members and friends and friends of friends it becomes an extremely large chunk. But yeah strangers bothering and attacking people is still real tho
