Some VST plugins for DAW.

there's no drop-in Excel equivalent, and there's no office pack that can reliably read files written in microsoft office; mostly because microsoft doesn't follow their own standards.

I have yet to find a PDF readers that does signatures (not the GPG one, the normie one).

well, yea, because msoffice can't reliably open msoffice docs, i think i'd argue that LO is viable. calc is fine for excel docs if they're not full of vb macros. but people should just stick to formulas, macros are an abomination.

it also has difficulty with the database-sized files that some people build in excel.

ok but at that point they should consider sqlite or prolog. gnumeric also comes with neat cli apps for working with excel docs: ssconvert ssdiff ssgrep ssindex.
