Highlights:

  1. In terms of short term politics, why not participate in elections, for example to work on dismanting the worst aspects of the state?

  2. In an anarcgist society, decisions would have to be made. Would those decisions not create political groups that would functionally be parties, even of you dont call them that

...

Purity or death! We must look to libertarians for guidance on how to scream at the clouds until our government free utopia spontaneously manifests! Kill the impure who would dare recognize present material needs and advocate for partial change!

...

Any unified ideological agreement could be considered a political party, and the establishment of a non-party system free from an established electorate would be possible. The true essence of anarchy is the ability for the individual voice to have influence, and systematic anarchy could be voted into existence and it's control could be diminished until it was unnoticeable

...

We still need some sort of power in our world filled with states and parties. We can't just let the ruling class make life worse for everyone else when we have the tools to prevent that. The state is a weapon that we need control of before we dismantle it in the far future.

Can I admit that when I see posts like this that link to reddit I'm always terrified that it's a post that I approved in @ or something. Y'all are keeping me on my toes like you don't even know.

I would never shift responsibility or blame to not-quite 'representatives.' Like, I expect anarchists to do better and be more consistent, not moderators.

In contrast to what we love to complain about on here, you really can't go too wrong.

In fairness I do wonder sometimes if you could be a anarchist politician. Think about it. You tell a bunch of people that you'll do a bunch of terrible shit for them. Oh yeah I'll have a cop on every corner and idk, not let so many immigrants in. Then rake in the campagn donations. Then once u get in office u get a job for like 2-6 years that you can't be fired from. So you just fuck arround for most of the term. Getting drunk, doing drugs and never going to do ur job. Hell maybe get so drunk that u forget that u are a member of congress.

Then when reelection comes up give all the promises again and then just get paid to drink all day for another 6 years. Rinse and repeat to never have to work again, just verbaly jerk people off. Now practically u couldn't do that for like federeal senate as u would need a shit ton of money but I could totally see this happening for state politicians bc everyone just fucking votes for whatever name they recognize that is their party.

Idk, not something I would do but it is funny to image. Tho super weird that this is like the complete opposite of what these people were thinking of.
