I honestly argue that the original sin was scrupulosity, let me explain.
When they were first called by God after the bite of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, they try wearing leaves to make themselves presentable to God(Genesis 3:7). The tree of knowledge is supposed to mean that they gain the knowledge of Good and Evil. Now despite them having Free Will, they were not supposed to act on that individual knowledge of Good and Evil because that's how Satan went down. "Satan" literally means "the accuser" because he used the knowledge of Good and Evil and used that to square up God. Which is a pro-gamer move not gonna lie, but it did backfire bigly.
By you judging what is right and what is wrong, there are some points when you forget to follow the will of God which are meant to be absolutely obeyed.
1st Samuel 15:22 says, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams."
This is the central theme of the New Testament. Jesus goes and judges the pharisees and Sadducees for their outward ritual devotion to God but forgets to follow the will of God, caring for the poor, respecting one another. This is the scrupulous idea of Good, Whereas those who literally disobeyed God, killed people, abandoned their parents, got possessed by demons were made saints and performed miracles.
But scrupulosity, whether from others or from oneself, has the possibility of making people feel tired and worn since they cannot exactly do everything and, at some point, they fall away from faith completely. We've all been there, "I'm too busy", "Mass is too boring", "The Rosary interrupts my work schedule", "I can't force these things down my kids' throat". That's the problem of scrupulosity.
The Sacraments exist to serve people not for people to serve the Sacraments. It is meant to heal the soul from the tortures of the world day-to-day. They are the fail-safes, the obedience to God, in whatever he shows you to do is the main process. If you're too busy at work, serve God through your work. If you can't force it down your kids, serve God through your parenting.
But this doesn't mean that you should stop going to sacraments or attending Church altogether, again, it's a fail-safe. If you fail to attend them, if you fail to do what you perceive as the Good thing, Go to Confession, Go to Mass, and start over.
Accusations that deny your worth to God is the work of the Devil and his minions. If they are wrong, stand strong. If they are right, offer them up to the one who as all might. Pray, and never worry.

I really like this take, that god didn't disapprove of Adam&Eve gaining knowledge via the fruit, but of them choosing themselves their own rules to follow instead of blindly following in their almost un-sentient previous ways.
It's interesting to think of what would happen if they still stayed naked after eating the fruit of knowledge instead of trying to cover themselves.
