It's kind of the perfect transhumanist argument. "Sure everything's dead, but look how shiny this machine looks!"

What would you want to call an outcome that'd necessarily require the exploitation of natural resources and a cultish devotion to merging with technology, if not technofetishism? Like yeah we had to kill the Earth, most of the population drowned because we stepped up production instead of dismantling factories, and the survivors have nowhere to go because we burned down the last forests for a gender reveal party, but at least some rich people get shiny new cyberarms. Worth it, right?
inb4 "but it's ANARCHO-transhumanism". When technology advances the first priorities are almost always military or economic in nature. Technology's something the state/whatever powerful actor is in place of the state hoards and it invariably leads to an arms race over who gets the biggest sword or plowshare.
