But when it does come (which is 100% unavoidable), collapse isn't going to be pretty; we're much more likely to come out the other side facing even more tyranny than we do under statism. Because the majority of humans just sit around twiddling their thumbs, waiting to be told by the nearest charismatic genocidal tyrant when to eat, work, shit and sleep.

Overcoming people's innate cowardice, willingness to submit to dangerous power hierarchies and complete unwillingness to think critically is a daunting task.

Isn’t “people's innate cowardice, willingness to submit to dangerous power hierarchies and complete unwillingness to think critically” engineered by the state?

I view submission to illegitimate authority and the desire for illegitimate authority as two sides of the same disease. It’s a virus that once stamped out, cured, vaccinated against, will have trouble taking hold again.

Many children are resistant to it early on and it’s only through relentless cultural conditioning that parents infect their children, tying legitimate values of civility and social cohesion to illegitimate values of submission and acceptance of oppression/inequality.

Not every culture, even westerners, on earth accept these blindly.

How and why humans got so fucked doesn't really matter, it's the status quo now.
