I don't think having a pretty font really matters, and I definitely don't mind whether it's used or not, but I think having a cohesive aesthetic (which the font contributed to) would probably be beneficial for, for lack of a better term, 'branding' and generally spreading and acquiring more users. Idk how important or valuable you consider that, but that's the best argument (at least, to me) in favour of keeping the old font that I can think of
