Actually, shoplifting is a too specific of a name for the purpose intended by /f/shoplifting. The result was a bunch of toxic behavior, and the inadvertent invitation into the space of privileged people who do not share our best interests at heart. You know, the type of people who run businesses, send rape threats, dox posters for putting up helpful content at personal risk, and enjoy exerting a dominating force on others in general.

So, the forum was deleted, to emphasize that a page has been turned, and the original intended focus of the old board recentered within a context where the purpose-- anticapitalist direct action-- can be more clear to everyone.

To elaborate, /f/illegalism is concerned with the discussion of theft, along with other activities, within an anticapitalist context.

I also noticed the side bar seems more concerned with sharing ideology than about lifting.

Actually, /f/Be_Gay_Do_Crime is for discussion of theory and history relevant to illegalism. /f/Illegalism is for praxis, which means the application of these ideas in a practical context. So any discussion of lifting is welcome here in this forum.

For all intents and purposes, if you are just concerned with stealing from stores, you are welcome here. You don't have to agree with any particular ideology, you can even be a liberal or a centrist and still post here. however you should understand the social context you are engaging with when you post here, and respect that by consenting to some reasonable standards of behavior such as those delineated in /w/etiquette & /w/Terms_of_Service.

Moreover, I suggest that you consider that discussions on Raddle of theft, as with any topic, will be happening in an anticapitalist context. You don't have to talk about anticapitalism yourself, but you do have to allow those conversations to happen between others on the site when it is relevant to the thread/forum/etc. Intentionally sabotaging our community is not something we welcome here, and is something we have united in opposing.

Because it wasn't a name change. Shoplifting was done away with and the existing threads were graciously moved to the illegalisim sub.
