I am about to do my tax return...very simple tax return....but my work has been slow lately and could use a chunk of change (sure we all could).

I have had friends in thr past that knew some person that did thier taxes and they would recieve a more sizeable return than they would have. So thought I might as well ask if someone knows how or where I can smudge a few numbers and make my return numbers bigger. I know someone will claim other people's kids or somthing like that.

I live in Texas and I am filing single and my only income is the unemployment I got because of the pandemic. I do residential remodelling work and been trying to go off on my own but only get paid cash so not claiming it. Should I look into freelancing tax bonuses if somthing like that exist? Any tips or if someone can tell me tricks DM me please

Inflate your mileage and receipts. They'll only catch you if they audit. But they use algorithms to tell them what is likely fraud so be reasonable

Does your business have a tax ID? If so, claim like 1 job that you did as income. Now go through and right off everything as a business expense. Milage on your car, space in your home, your internet, your phone bill, clothes, laundry supplies, everything you need to live and function to do business is a write off. A good CPA will cost you $500, but you can do it yourself. After a few years of taking a loss with the business, file bankruptcy as a business, go down and open a new one. Get a new tax ID, and start again. Oh, and you can have your business pay you a salary to ensure that it still takes a loss.

Another option is to become a church online. Then everything you do is tax free. https://donorbox.org/nonprofit-blog/how-to-start-a-church/ has more information on that.
