I've had the thought of walking into a store, taking what's in front and walking out. How viable would this strategy be?

That's called a walkout, except that you don't have a specific target in mind. Who knows what could be "in front" when you do it? Could be something worthless. Scout the store first and pick a target before doing a walkout.
