Disclaimer: I worked at a targ€t which was classified as a ‘rural’ store. (No alcohol/no produce) I’m unsure if this info varys from store type.

Cameras: 38 Total Dome Cameras: These are all PTZ cameras with 480p quality, all are remote and go off our stores internet (hardwired with CAT5)

2 Covert Pin-Hole cameras: These were only utilized if a certain area was being hit heavily (by a repeating offender) and normally placed inside the isles pointing outward though one of the many holes in the isle dividers.

AP: Small stores only have one AP, and are hands off. Only can follow to the parking lot, they will be very aggressive at following in the store. Most are plain-clothed with the rare exception of the “Paul Blarts” who wear the security uniform. Watch cameras until they see something of suspect and will leave their office.

Physical Security- Spider wraps: S3 Key to open, most are loose anyways. Behind the electronics counter there are 1-2 attached S3 keys you can use if no one is there.

Clam Shell (Plastic Rectangle Cases): Need an S3 key aswell, these things are indestructible but the hinge pins can be melted on the bottom to allow for opening.

Peg hook Locks: S3 key needed to open, some are left unlocked accidentally quite a lot.

RFID TAGS-

ALL ‘Heyday’ branded products are tagged, and so are all ink products now.

Targ€t has an RFID tracking network of scanners in the ceiling, I do not know how this works except it allows for tracking of certain products in the store.

If you want an RFID disabled, place it near a register and let someone cash out before retrieving said item, we have near field technology that will null any tag where a guest is standing.

Lastly: I have a list of all team member’s employee numbers for discounts. Feel free to reach out for one. (Or many)

If you have any questions I have lots of in depth knowledge. Ask away :)

If you want a discount, just do this. Find an item that has the same word in the description, (for instance, yesterday I put a barcode from speaker wire on a set of speakers and no questions were asked) then take a good quality pic of the barcode with your phone. Then go home and use Avery label sheets to print copies of this barcode. Cut them out neatly (sized to fully cover the barcode on the item you want) then slap one over the barcode at the store, go to self checkout, then you win. You can also use the barcode trick to buy a bunch of expensive 5 gal buckets of Behr paint ($200) at Home Depot for the price of cheap drywall primer ($30) and then take them to another store and return without reciept to get a $1200 gift card. Costs about $100 to pull that one off. But it's worth $100.
