Yeah, so far as I understand, it takes a little before your body gets used to the increase in beans and then adjusts how it digests things, and that can make people starting out veganism extra gassy for a while.

OP, the ginger turmeric and cumin seem like good things to look into; search and learn about 'carminatives'. I'm not sure which (if any) actually work, but I assume there are some which help.
