Submitted by lentils in Vegan

Was jw whether any of yk how easy it is to find as I might be travelling from the uk to some other european country in a while (but my non-vegan friends and I haven't decided on which one yet). It'll be my first time going to one since going vegan and I've heard there's a lack of vegan options in (at least some) other ones compared to the uk.

Hopefully I can persuade them to go to the one with the most vegan options haha

i've traveled through europe before while i was raw vegan, it wasn't hard at all. just went to a shop, bought a bag of salad, some cherry tomatoes, a cucumber and an avocado or some olives and mixed it up. instant meal. then I picked fruit from park trees (especially figs in southern europe) and in spring there are wild mallows, mustards, nettles and so on growing everywhere

if you're cooking, it's just as easy, just buy a bag of rice or beans at any market and whatever veg is in season, then cook it up

you don't need to buy processed meals with 100 ingredients when you travel

you can also find Lidl supermarkets in most EU countries if you want processed food and they mark it as suitable for vegans e.g. burgers, pizzas, schnitzels, nuggets, sorbet and cheese

ziqs advice is really good, could be tricky if you are thinking in dining out tho, but try to check those vegan social apps like happycow and you may find options

If u wanna dine out but can't get ur friends to go to the vegan options on the apps

  • Pizza places can always make a vegan pizza if u describe it to them.
  • israeli/libanese/syrian, japanese sushi, indian, (most asian coutries cusine really), saumali, mexican restaurants have vegan options or can make their food vegan.

U'll probably have trace amouts of meat in ur food because they don't change clothes and cooking ustensils but w/e.

I might not get them to go to the vegan options so I'll keep that in mind. Ty.

Germany is quite good also in dining out, Greece is mech with processed options, France seems like a disaster. A friend asked for Falafel pnce in a Kebab shop and got told that they don't sell that jewish shit there.

WHAT? LOL where I live Falafel is the almost obligatory since many of the kebab shops are owned by south Asians and many of them are vegetarian

I was also really WTF, when I heard this story. Was in Paris, tho. There I only found falafel advertised at a store once and it was a poshy hipster place with 10 Euros per sandwich.
