not related at all to anarchy lol. But right now my job in agriculture has me self employed for tax reasons. So I don't get check stubs and they just right me a check every week or 6 weeks or whenever really lol. How tf am I supposed to get an apartment to rent. I guess Im just stuck trying to find an individual landlord who will rent to me. Honestly I have no clue how to get a place to rent lol. I guess I could do air bnbs or motels but that shit is really expensive.

Could anyone advise me on how I could get an apartment I"m super new to this and the internet isn't much help lol.

yeah prob second best bet to find individual landlords. I say second best because one thing I learned recently is that a bunch of boomer landlords in rural areas don't know about the internet and only rent through classifieds. Legit about 10 minutes away from me, someone was renting out a studio apartment with utilities for 375 a month. Now that was an outlyer but apartments in the right rural areas can be pretty fucking reasonable. Hopefully when I actually start trying to rent I will find someone who is cool with how odd my payment for work is.

Oh yeah you could try Facebook marketplace to get the in-between crowd.

Yeah second this too. If you can stand roomates "student housing" as they often advertise it can be cheap. and you can also find ads on there of people looking for roomates. So then you dont have to prove anything to a landlord just to a roommate.

my dads like idk, really bad at business so he is shit at making money. And my mom, could make decent money as an engineer but she gets like ridiculously depressed and wont work for years and when she does work she usually gets fired in like a couple months. Basically my parents just had a buffer of savings and were poor. Which is a big difference. Nah no one would do anything like that. Tho deadass, fixing the house I own would be far more expensive than just buying a house lol.

He's like co-owner of that cattle operation or something yeah? or maybe I am mistaken.

I guess being co-owner of something doesn't mean your good at it.

yeah hes good enough to regularly do slightly better than breaking even. like legit, he is at work everyday most of the day, and makes like 6 - 16k a year. At the height of his career. its the most ridiculously horrible financial plan ever I swear.

I havent rented in awhile so maybe things are diffferent. Depending on where you are its going to be tricky. Like around here they fucking do credit checks. But if you get a place that isnt super strict. They usually want copies of bank statements that show you are gettinf regular income. many of them want demonstrable proof via bank statement that rent is no more than 30% of your income some are ok with 50%. If you can prove it averages out that way you might have a shot.

I woyld try talking to who evere is writing the check and see if you can at least get monthly or biweekly checks. makes proving stuff easier. But it might work if you can prove a monthly average.

Otherwise try and flex your large savibgs account to a landlord (assuming you have one) might work but who knows.

Last option is seeing if you have family that are willing to rent to you. Can be risky because its your family but they might be more understanding of the situation.

I'm a ancap silly. My credit score has never been below 700 hundred.

Ites still good for an american but its shameful to me due to my recent fuckup with property buying lol. So yeah it would be helpful. I actually thought about just offering to pay 12 months up front. But in landlord forums they act like thats a just horrible thing so maybe that is a bad idea.

Thanks for the ideas. Mostly stuff I know with a few good bits.

An idea could be to have a "business" account that you deposit the checks into, and then pay yourself from the "business" account at a regular interval, such that it appears that you're payed regularly. This would also help with budgeting.

This of course may not be the best choice if you don't want an auditable paper trail.
