Nice guide. While we're on the topic of style, why do some people use "women" as an adjective (e.g., in the article, "women pilots")? Woman/women is a noun, and female is an adjective. If they're afraid of sounding like the Ferengi, then don't use female as a noun, just use it as an adjective.
