I don't think trans women should be on RuPaul's Drag Race, but for a different (and non-transphobic) reason— they're women, so it's not cross-dressing. Drag is about cross-dressing. Drag Race isn't about faux queens, it's about drag queens, so cis and trans women shouldn't be on it.

Some men who wear women's clothing do drag, but drag is a performance (and not in the Judith Butler sense) and has a lot of its own conventions.

That is, women and non-binary people could just as well do drag, so far as I'm concerned.
