Fantasy in general is pretty reactionary, and there's really nothing about GoT that challenged that.

It's not just the characters but those who play the bad guys. LoTR and The Hobbit for example hired exclusively black and Maori actors to play the orcs and goblins. Hollywood is run by racists.
