I remember a time, not that many years ago, when too many leftists looked upon Venezuela with rosy eyes. It's not like I can predict the future and my sense for analysis can only be described as average.
However, I never really got people that only saw Venezuela's wealth redistribution schemes and not the flaw of how top-down political decisions were.
I'm generalizing but I can't say that I didn't see this thing, and other things before that, coming.
Edit: Addition to the "However"-part: In the long run those two things generally don't play nice with each other.
